Dennis Landry is proud to be a Cajun, and proud to be doing his part to preserve Cajun culture. He was born in 1951 in the rural community of Belle Rose, on the banks of Bayou Lafourche, and spent his youth paddling up and down its muddy waters in an antique cypress dugout pirogue.
One of six boys in a relatively poor family, he learned early the value of hard work and education. After the public schools of Assumption Parish, he worked his way through Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, earning a BA and a Master’s in Education. His love of history and Cajun culture led him to teach history in elementary and high school.
After a few years of teaching and coaching, the growing oilfield industry lured him away. For about 20 years he worked for a marine and oilfield construction company, first as assistant office manager and later in sales, and as a lease manager for a land company. In that time he also served as State Chairman for Ducks Unlimited and spent some 11 years on the Assumption Parish School Board.
He founded Belle Chene Apartments, developed the Magnolia Ridge and Sportsman’s Paradise subdivisions of Bayou Corne, and then built and runs Cajun Cabins, the RV sites and Sportsman’s Landing. He’s also a licensed auctioneer who specializes in charity fundraising auctions. More about that »

Dennis is the father of two fine grown sons, and runs the business with his wife Pat. Pat has given the cabins, and their own bayou-side home, a special touch, and anyone who gets to know her knows she has the most pleasant disposition in the world.
Dennis and Pat enjoy helping their guests get the most out of a stay, and invite y’all to come pass a good time, down on the bayou.
“Y’all come chère!”
